Introducing Precious Broadband — Our Newest Venture

14 February 2025 by Simon Gilbert

A New Chapter for Mad Tech Heads

I've been fixing tech, building websites, and running hosting for years. But one thing kept coming up — people in rural Kent with absolutely terrible internet.

Why Precious Broadband?

I'd go to a customer's house to fix their computer, and they'd be struggling along with 2 Mbps broadband. In 2025. That's not right.

So I decided to do something about it. Precious Broadband is the trading name for broadband services offered under Mad Tech Heads LTD, providing 4G and 5G mobile broadband solutions across Kent.

What's on Offer

  • 4G Home Broadband from £30/month + £69 one-off setup
  • 5G Home Broadband where 5G coverage is available
  • Caravan & Holiday Home broadband
  • Business broadband for rural offices and workshops

No phone line required. No long-term contracts — it's all monthly.

How the Setup Works

  1. Get in touch with your postcode
  2. I check coverage from EE, Vodafone, Three, and O2 at your specific address
  3. If coverage is good, I'll recommend the best option
  4. I'll source and configure the router, bring it out to you, and get you set up
  5. Usually done in under an hour — no engineer visit required

Is It Worth Switching?

For most rural households getting under 10 Mbps on ADSL, 4G broadband is almost certainly faster and more reliable. Many customers see speeds of 20–50 Mbps where they previously struggled to get 5 Mbps.

If you're in a rural area of Kent waiting for fibre that keeps getting delayed, this is your solution now rather than in three years.

Same Personal Service

Like everything under Mad Tech Heads, it's still just me. You call, you get Simon. There are no call centres, no robots, no being passed between departments.

If there's ever a problem, you've got my direct number.

Get Started

If you're stuck with rubbish internet and want to see if 4G/5G broadband could work for you, get in touch. I'll do a free coverage check and give you an honest answer — no pressure.
